Isola is my next read. Well starting this afternoon!
Let us know what you think!
Reading The Last Ballad by Wiley Cash. Historical fiction for my bookclub.
That’s a really good comparison, @Anne_Glasgow,
I think it’s going to be one of those polarizing books that some folks will love (like me) and others maybe not so much.
Isola’s been on my radar, too, and I’ll be interested to hear what @Evonne_Benedict thinks as well!
I just finished Shelterwood and enjoyed the story, weaving historical facts with engaging characters.
I finished Isola too and liked it. Both with survivors of hardship in very different times and places.
I just started The Lost House
I loved the writing, and could picture the storyline in my head (I call this ‘making my own movie’) - a most definite 5 star for me.
“All The Other Mothers Hate Me” by Sarah Harman
You’ll have to let me know what you think of that one, @Cindy_R. All the Other Mothers Hate Me is on my short list of books to get on the next Kindle double-points day, along with Isola.
I am reading three outstanding books
All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker
The Lost Story of Eva Fuentes by Chanel Cleeton (to be published 7/1/2025)
The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters
