I knew little about W E Du Bois. I knew he was involved in the Civil Rights movement and that he was a black man - other than that not much else. Regardless of his personal life I think he was prevalent in many areas, Civil Rights, starting the NAACP.
I agree with you Kim. He truly provided an impact on civil rights and should be given credit for doing so. However, that being said, it didnât give him permission to treated women as second class citizens. For me it certainly knocked him down a peg or two on the ârights ladderâwhen it comes to his impact on civil rights. To me civil rights covers all, both female and male citizens,
I was not aware of any of this until I read the book. It makes you open your eyes more and realize that what you thought you knew wasnât all there is to know. I canât wait to read more history books so I can enlighten my world.
