The prologue reveals that an escape attempt will be made. As you read the book, did you have a feeling as to whether the attempt would succeed? What made you feel that way?
Before I began, I thought - oh! no! Someone else will be in prison. So I was very happy at the end.
I thought, “No! Don’t do it!” Then, I started to think there is no way that will be successful. Now they will both be in prison.” Of course, I thought it would be done because she fell in love with a guy. That’s what we have seen in movies, tv, and heard on the news. Then, my mind said there has to be a twist here somewhere.
I was very intrigued and anxious to discover how it could happen. When it did I was amazed.
I was confident that the escape would happen. Otherwise, there would be no redemption for either of them.
At first, I was very doubtful an escape would succeed. But as I read further in the book and learned more about Allison, I changed my mind and felt sure it would succeed. She seemed so intelligent in so many ways, and I thought if anyone could arrange it, she could!
When escape was first discussed, I was quite concerned. Allison would be implicated as an accessory to the escape and James would never see the light of day again. Always felt fear that they would get caught, but in the end, all worked out so well.
I wasn’t sure what to expect about the looming “escape attempt.” And I was quite nervous about how it would play out. Of course, I was relieved and impressed at the end.
It could have gone either way but I am sure happy Allison’s plan worked. It was pretty amazing! Good ole Nancy Drew!
I had my doubts. Not many attempts are successful. Would this one, but then as I read on I became pro Allison and felt with her intelligence, and Nancy Drew determination it could happen. Now that I finished the book I will admit I have just one thought. Does this long needed freedom last or not???
I was confident the escape would be successful but did wonder if James would face a roadblock or two before the attempt could be made. As a Nancy Drew reader, I appreciated the connection to the character and Drew’s drive and determination, which Allison echoed.
Initially I was thinking that the escape attempt would end tragically, but as I got to know Allison and James I began to believe it would be successful. Allison is determined and empathic, a winning combo for a prison escape.
I felt quite confident the escape would be successful and was happy it turned out the way it did!
I was not sure if the proposed escape woud be successful given the numerous plot twists happening throughout the story, but I was delighted that in the end, Allison’s plan worked
I think the title of the book gave me a high level of confidence that the attempt would be successful. At several times, I looked at the cover to see if I was overconfident in my assumption and each time, I felt affirmed in my conclusion. Maybe it is just because I am an eternal optimist.
The success of the prison escape was on my mind throughout. I wondered how it would turn out. I also wondered if James would be successful at disappearing. I was afraid he would be caught later. Prison escape is difficult for sure so I was happy that all turned out so well. James was able to lead a productive life afterwards. He was not a bad person just one that got caught up in his emotions.
I was reluctant to second guess the author regarding the success of the attempted escape. However, I was pleased the attempt was a success.
After we learn more about Allison, I started to think an escape would be successful. Also, I thought it would make a better story.
