I would not have picked up this book if I didn’t receive a copy from Bookbrowse.com. I have read similar Victorian-style romances in the past and no longer care for them, because they are generally too predictable, as was this one. The writing was ok, the plot was ok, but all in all, too formulaic.
It was an okay book. Kept me interested. I like the little bit of magic involved. Relaxing, cozy book on the whole. Could have used a bit of sprucing up in the chronology. It had a lot of potential for a good story.
