Overall, what did you think of The Cloak and Dagger Club? (No spoilers in this topic, please.)

For a debut novel, I thought the author did a great job. I really enjoyed the book, it kept me entertained, and I didn’t guess “who did it” until towards the end. I thought she did a good job with not only the mystery aspect, but the love story, as well as the other characters development. I would definitely read another book by this author.

I…. LOVED … IT!!!

Such a fun read! I had a hard time getting into it because it was very like Hercule Poirot (sp) mysteries that i don’t like, but once i got into it, i found it addictive and fun!

I quite liked the book and enjoyed all of the characters, even Horace. The book kept my interest and had enough twists and turns to make it entertaining. This is an easy read; I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fun, light mystery.

This book is a great, old-fashioned mystery novel. I think the characters are well-drawn and the plot is clever. I wish I had figured out the ending (where the murderer is revealed), but I didn’t. I would recommend the books to readers who like classic mystery novels.

I found The Cloak and Dagger Club hard for me to get into. As the story progressed, however, it grew more compelling and I wanted to see how it turned out in the end. I guess I am just not a huge fan of this type of mystery.

I also read tons of Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie growing up and recently reviewed the Queens of Crime for a Friends of the Library Bookfellows emphasizing the history of the Detection Club. I LOVED this book and have been recommending it to many in our group. I felt the author nailed the time period and to be honest, for the first time I did not get the perpetrator right!! But it was so much fun yo read!!

I really enjoyed reading The Cloak and Dagger. From the very beginning, the story captured my attention with its mystery, suspense, and unexpected twists. The characters were interesting and well-developed, making it easy to become invested in what happened to them.

One of the things I liked most about the book was how it kept me guessing. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the story took another surprising turn. The combination of adventure, intrigue, and action made it difficult to put the book down.

I also appreciated the way the author created an exciting atmosphere and kept the pace moving throughout the story. Every chapter left me wanting to read just one more.

Overall, The Cloak and Dagger was an entertaining and engaging read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys mystery, adventure, and suspense. It is a book that stayed with me even after I finished reading it.

It was a fun read! I really love the cover on the hardcover we received.

I have enjoyed mysteries since my first Nancy Drew and this book didn’t disappoint. I appreciated all the references to the Golden Age writers and found the story line engaging…and there were enough twists and turns to satisfy. I hope to read more by this author.

I enjoyed the mystery and the writing a lot. All of the characters were interesting: quirky yet very believable. The plot was intricate but not too convoluted like some mystery novels I have read.

I found the book to be a very engaging, enjoyable read. I have not read a lot of Agatha Christie type novels, but I thought this one was interesting.

It was a good mystery, I really enjoyed reading it. I liked the idea of a mystery writers’ club, and there are plenty of red herrings and complications. Nicely written, the book moves well. While I thought the romance was a little overdone, it’s clear that the author was making a specific and thoughtful statement.

I did enjoy The Cloak and Dagger Club. There were times when the characters confused me, but I attribute that to not being able to read this book straight through in a couple sittings. It is fun, and I can see future titles with some of the characters solving mysteries.

I really enjoyed it. The writing is good, it was a fast and interesting read.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I found it hard to get into at the beginning, but the more I read, the easier it became. Plus, I found it more compelling as I read more of it. I have not read many mysteries, so I think there are “Easter eggs” I didn’t recognize. I am glad I requested this book, and I am happy I was was one of the people chosen to receive a copy of this book.

Overall, it was a good book. There was a time in the middle of the book I got bogged down. However, I enjoyed it.
