Overall, what did you think of Days of Sun and Shadow? (No spoilers in this topic, please.)

I loved this book and all its twists and turns. I really liked Emilie even though at times she made bad choices. I also enjoyed the history of the time and observations about horses. Life can get complicated!

I very much enjoyed this book. I love historical fiction about this time period and it really brought this westward movement period to life. I could really identify with Emilie and Susanna and Madeleine. The characters were all well developed and drew you in to the story. I am hoping for a sequel.

This is a page turner for anyone that likes character driven stories. Strong, well-drawn characters with very relatable human reactions and sorrows.

I really enjoyed this book. I was easily able to follow the characters and their interactions. It explored a part of history that I had little knowledge of, specifically in that area of the country and brought it to life for me. Emily is so strong yet she has her moments of making terribly wrong choices. I loved reading about her work with horses when that wasn’t normally done by women.

definitely worth reading! I am thankful for the book and gifts that came with it. I will be passing it along to friends.

I enjoyed reading Days of Sun and Shadow. It is historical fiction at its best. The historical events are used to complement the story and move it forward without feeling contrived. There are many characters in the book, but they all feel necessary in the plot development. The story takes continuous twists and turns that I never expected. India Hayford explores love, loss, betrayal, abuse and resilience with great skill.
