I loved it. The book was written beautifully and the characters brought to life in a way I have not seen before.
I was surprised at how feminist this story was, it is unusual for Aphrodite retellings. However, I thought the author held the readerâs hands a little too much with the themes.
I also loved the book. I have always enjoyed Greek myths. It was really enjoyable tp have thestories connected into one long tale. I had read them previously as short snippets
Another vote for this awesome book, Aphrodite in Pieces-I highly recommend! Itâs probably my most favorite ARC that Iâve received. I donât read much mythological based stories but when I do, I usually am intrigued. I obviously need to explore more types of books like this and read more books from the author. Any recommendations? Thnx!
I wasnât sure if I would like this book. Like many of us, I have read some of the recent Greek myth retellings, and I wasnât sure if I wanted another one. But yes I do. Barrâs writing moved the story along and her ability to connect myths in one store had me turning the pages. Well done, a new favorite author.
Overall, I enjoyed the storytelling. Even when I did not agree with Aphroditeâs actions, I was drawn to her as a character. I felt for her and her plight. Even though she was a goddess, she was a woman, a mother, a lover, a victim, and a troubled characterâŚthat struggled with some of the same situations that us mere mortals experience.
I loved it. The writing was so intelligent, the story compelling. The goddess and her adventures were brought to life in such a refreshing manner. One of the best books Iâve read in a while,
