I enjoyed the book. I didn’t know anything about the two women who worked together to bring Luciano to justice. I like Benedict’s focus on women we didn’t know about who did very interesting and important things.
I really enjoyed A Pair of Aces. The story was engaging, the characters were compelling, and the writing kept me interested throughout. I’ve loved the other two books by these authors, and their coverage of female characters is always on point.
It was captivating to read about these two dynamic, highly motivated women from different life paths, willing to take extraordinary risks to reach their end goals. It was hard to take a break from the read.
I enjoyed this book. The characters had courage to follow thru with their choices and worked together to accomplish a goal. I did not realize it was based on true events. Very enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I have read a number of other books about this era, but this was a new take. Although not new, jumping back and forth between narrators was a great way to develop both characters in a way that really helped readers see the common ground between two vastly different worlds.
This is my first novel I have read co-written by these two extremely talented writers. I would highly recommend this to others. I have read other novels by Marie Benedict and always learned about some powerful women in history.
I enjoyed the book and rate it 
. It was interesting & I enjoyed hearing the story from each woman’s perspective. It is unfortunate that the electronic ARC I received did not include the authors’ notes because they often provide additional information, including how much of a work of historical fiction is accurate and any liberties the authors took. Also, authors frequently disclose the ultimate fate of the characters. That kind of information informs my assessment and rating of a book, so having it might have allowed me to enjoy the book as a whole, more and give it a higher rating.
