@Carolyn_L don’t be so hard on yourself! Not every book appeals to every person, and “classics” are no exception! I think The Bluest Eye was a particularly challenging read for many people.

Where The Crawdads Sing is a book that everyone loved, but I just couldn’t get into it.
I listened to Educated and loved it. Maybe the reader, Julia Whalen (sp?) won me over, but I found it fascinating. The crazy religious family and she got past that.

I so agree. I did enjoy The Women, but I never thought of the relationship to China Beach. I am going to think about if that changes my view. Either way I am grateful women are being recognized for their contributions during the Vietnam War. For those interested, there is an amazing soundtrack on Spotify that the author put together. The music was terrific!
