It works for me, and no regrets! The only time I don’t do that is for a bookclub book… I’m glad I kept reading A Gentleman From Moscow! It took more than 50 pages to hook me!
@Gabi_J I’m the same w/ digital. I love to highlight passages that I find meaningful or important, and it’s so much easier to do on a Kindle. Not to mention the search function. As I’m getting older, especially, I find myself running into those, “Now, who was that??” moments more and more, and I’m finding being able to easily search for a name to be invaluable.
And I walk a lot, so I love having audiobooks available to accompany me.
I definitely read different genres now, also like others I find myself having to reread things/sentences at times, and if I am not liking a book a quarter of the way in, I just won’t finish it
I used to always finish a book once started. Now, I give it about 50 pages and am willing to put it down. Life is too short and there are a whole lot of books to read.
