Do celebrity book clubs/recommendations influence the books you read?

I do enjoy the celebrity book club recommendations as one more tool to narrow my book choices. I use many sources to add to a master list of what to read next. My list is constantly evolving as I prioritize my reading desires.

No, I have no clue who’s promoting which book. Although I do pay attention to Sarah Jessica Parker’s imprint as well as the books she’s reading.

SJP is a judge for this year’s Booker Prize and I’m so interested to see if her influence will be discernible.

I really don’t follow celebrity book clubs. My reading is based on my book club’s selections, my local NPR station’s seasonal book recommendations, James Mustich’s 1000 Books to Read Before You Die, and the embarrassing number of unread books on my home shelves.
